OLIVIER CHATARD / Photographer

Olivier Chatard was born in the southwest of France, grew up in Paris and studied creative design & photography in California. After graduating with honors and special recognitions from two of the top schools in the US - Art Center and Otis -, he created a solid body of print, motion and photography while working for companies such as MTV networks and Yahoo!. In 2008 he founded his studio: Olivier Chatard Creative; in Venice, Los Angeles, CA. Since then, Olivier has been following his artistic passions blending different concepts & mediums.

“I had my first camera when I was 7 years old, a little instant polaroid camera that my parents got for my birthday. Ever since, I’ve played with colors, danced with light and shadows, and balanced reflections and composition.” OC

Olivier Chatard is an internationally emerging photographer known for his exceptional talent in combining a unique hyper-realistic aesthetic with natural lights and composition.

With images that fusion ‘honesty,' and ‘intensity', Olivier Chatard has created his own signature by engaging searing of emotions to his style of photography.

“I convey emotions by capturing the essence of now/then, perfecting the imperfect in the process. The reflection of the sun in the window, a kid’s laughter, a decaying landscape, that look of the old man, a beauty/fashion style, a lover’s silhouette, the breaking point; all of which are moments to be cherished, criticized, shared, exposed and relived.” As Ansel Adams said : You don’t take a photograph, you make it.
